We are delighted to announce this year's Zirkus ON jury.

The 2024 jury of the Zirkus ON creation program is made up of people nominated for positions and commissioned by the Creative Alliance, who each fill out the perspective to be represented on the jury through their professional activity/artistic practice.

Yogi Mohr

 

Yogi Mohr, born in the Black Forest in 1966, graduated as an actor and stage acrobat at "École sans Filet" in Brussels in 1989. As a comedian, aerialist and musician (www.diemaiers.com), he has been touring Europe and the USA since 1990, currently with his own production "Die Maiers - inzwischendrindraussen". 

He works as a director/coach for productions in the field of contemporary circus with a focus on creative group processes and the power of humor.  

 Since 2019, Yogi Mohr has been board member of the production venue „Schloss Bröllin“ (www.broellin.de) where he oversees the residency program for performing arts as part of the collective.  

 

 

Stefan Schönfeld  

  

Originally from the music and event industry, Stefan Schönfeld now works in the circus world as a producer , director and consultant for artists, companies and projects.  He is a co-founder of the "Atoll" festival in Karlsruhe and a member of the festival management. As artistic director of the momentlabor Freiburg, he is responsible for the productions hyrrä, Train, hyrrätytö, and hyrrä paratiisi. As "Outside Eye" he supervised the productions "Common Ground" and "Gap of 42".  

 Stefan Schönfeld is also Drummer, curator of the Freiburg festival "No Elephants", active in the "Circostrada" network for the Tollhaus Karlsruhe and a board member of Zirkus ON e.V. 

 

 

Roxana Küwen


Roxana Küwen is a foot juggler and trapeze artist. She graduated in 2013 from Academy for Circus and Performance Art in Tilburg (NL) and now lives in France. With her solo acts, her solo piece OMÂ (Zirkus ON 2022/23) and the collective CiNS, which works on the history of circus under National Socialism, she performs internationally. From the Cirque du Soleil event, festivals and travelling circuses to social projects, for her the diversity of the audience is a decisive factor in her artistic work. She also teaches in the amateur and professional sector. In her workshops and training courses, she places great value on individuality and creativity.

 

 

Jana Korb


Jana Korb is an artist (guest Freie Klasse at UdK Berlin), aerial artist, and cultural scientist (FU/HU Berlin), and creates circus theater and narrative circus for public spaces. In her works she explores themes such as the body, age, vulnerability and others, usually from a queer-feminist perspective. She has created and worked for Christoph Schlingensief, John Bock, Taylor Mac, Jill Greenhalgh, Fura dels Baus, bankleer, etc. She was artistic director of LuftFest Berlin and a board member of the Federal Association of Theater in Public Spaces. She lives and works in Saxony-Anhalt, where she is establishing the residency and production house CircusMühle Kelbra. 

 

 

Kaja Jakstat


Kaja Jakstat (dramaturge/ producer/ coach) studied scenic arts at the University of Hildesheim with a focus on contemporary theater, performance and media. 

 She was a scholarship holder of the  

International Forum at the Theatertreffen and the Impulse Festival.  

As a dramaturge, she has worked for the PARADEISERproductions label, She 

She Pop and the group Interrobang. Since 2012 she has been running the office Zwei Eulen, 

where she works as a dramaturge, producer and coach, providing conceptual 

support for artists and independent groups as well as organizational framework design for independent projects and strategic  

alignment/process design.
