Tyr Auf!
About the Show
Tyr Auf! is a contemporary circus piece that takes the audience into a world of wonder and surprise, where circus boundaries are widened. Inspired by the show Cyrrealism (2024), it poses the question: What happens if we see things from a different perspective?
Humanity has made great progress throughout history, fighting for freedoms and overcoming barriers. Yet the greatest obstacles remain in our minds. Our ingrained beliefs can trap us in a self-imagined reality, denying us true freedom.
Tyr Auf! invites the spectator to accept the things we cannot change while having the courage to shape what we can, and to approach challenges from a new angle.
A perfect, round Cyr wheel opens while the artist spins within it. What appears to be a hopeless situation reveals itself, upon closer inspection, as a door to endless possibilities.

About the Company
Fenja Barteldres
Fenja Barteldres (1998, DE) is a circus artist who has made the Cyr wheel her world.
She studied at École de Cirque de Québec (CAN) and completed her Bachelor's at Codarts Circus Arts in Rotterdam (NL).
With her gymnastics background, Fenja discovered circus at the age of twelve, along with the joy of fusing dance, theatre, and music with her acrobatic skills.
Since she loves collaborating and performing collectively, she found a companion in her apparatus and made it her friend. Their close relationship is visible in her performance through deep understanding and playful movement.
