About the show

Rita & Rita consists of Júlia Campistany and Annika Hemmerling. Inspired by surrealism, the duo uses circus vocabulary to narrate the eternal inner dialogue of different personalities through a young woman named “R I T A”, a fascinating character who searches her solace in the elixir of tea. Within the confined walls of a 25-square meter room, the unique fusion of mouth balance, trapeze, and a love for tea unfolds in front of the audience. With magie nouvelle, object manipulation, circus prowess and theatrical finesse, “RITA” whisks you away on a delightful journey where teacups dance on air and teabags magically transform on the trapeze. A world where tea becomes a metaphor for life’s delicate balance and the boundaries between reality and imagination are beautifully blurred.

About the company

Rita & Rita is a contemporary circus company founded in 2019 by Annika Hemmerling and Júlia Campistany. They are known for their very own style full of absurd images, intertwined bodies and surreal scenes. Using traditional Chinese mouth balance and a rotating dance trapeze, they take the audience into the world of their character Rita. Their work has been shown at Zirkus ON and Circustad Festival and, of course, in Korzo as well!
