About the show

Naked Fools explores the deconstruction of the clown figure in contemporary circus and is currently in creation. At its core are nakedness, humor, and the clown nose as symbols of body, gender, and identity. Lokke Wurm develops new performance languages that question patriarchal gazes and use nakedness as an artistic strategy—somewhere between costume, liberation, and risk.

Lokke Wurm is a trained clown (Schule für Clowns, Mainz) and a physical theatre performer (Atelier für Physisches Theater Berlin). Transformation is at the center of dey performances.

Dey engage with the grotesque, transgression, and failure in order to shift habitual ways of seeing. Dey own body becomes the central artistic material, and traditional elements of clowning combine with butoh, object theatre, pantomime, and dance.

ANSO DAUTZ (dey/deren) – Direction
 

Born in 1994, dey studied puppetry theatre at HMDK Stuttgart from 2017 to 2021 and developed dey own projects such as LOVEBOX and LAUTSPRECHER*INNEN—an audiovisual search for dey own voice. In 2023, dey performed in the production BROMIO at Theater an der Ruhr. From 2023 to 2025, Anso was a permanent ensemble member at tdjw Leipzig. Dey works in Leipzig, likes to think about in-between spaces and border zones, and conducts material- and body-based research.

JERIES ABUJABER – Scenography
 

Scenographer and hospital clown with many years of experience. Designs masks and puppets, breathes life into them as a puppeteer, and brings them to the stage through international collaborations. As an actor and performer, he works with various theatre ensembles. Based in Prague, a member of Dafa Theatre and working freelance. Holds a master’s degree in “Directing Devised and Object Theatre” from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU).
